Spraddled Legs

This is a problem in young hatchlings where their legs splay or spraddle apart. Young hatchlings should not be kept on slippery surfaces in order to help prevent this condition. If you notice legs spraddling, lightly tie the legs together while changing the flooring surface. After 4–6 days this should hopefully have been resolved. If the legs continue to have problems, you may wish to consider culling the chick, as it is likely to lead to health problems as the bird grows.
